Statement of Personal Philosophy
To be an effective Teacher Librarian you need to desire constant knowledge and understanding. The ethos of a Teacher Librarian is the need to learn and the need to teach that learning. I have a love of lifelong learning and want others to have that same attribute. To be a teacher librarian for me is to instill in students that gaining knowledge can be about anything and does not have to be just through the traditional classroom environment.
An effective Teacher Librarian adapts to change and is continually developing their skills and experience. I believe a Teacher Librarian has to embrace change within the information world to stay essential in their school. New technologies and the internet have changed the access to information. It has become easier to find information on the surface but harder to find that in depth information analysis. A Teacher Librarian is important in being able to teacher others how to navigate so much information effectively.
